Johannes Paulus "Hans" Gillhaus (born November 5, 1963 in Helmond ) is a former Dutch football player .
Career
society
Gillhaus began his professional career in 1983 at FC Den Bosch . In 1987 PSV Eindhoven signed the striker . He was able to celebrate numerous successes with PSV. In 1989 he left PSV for Scotland for Aberdeen FC . With Aberdeen he won the Scottish Cup . In 1992 he moved to Vitesse Arnheim . He then played for Gamba Osaka in Japan . After his unsuccessful return to the Netherlands to AZ Alkmaar , for which he played eleven games. After AZ's relegation, he moved briefly to the Finnish club FF Jaro in 1998 . In the 1998/99 season he let his career in 's-Hertogenbosch end in the Eerste Divisie at the club where it had started.
National team
Gillhaus made his debut for the Dutch national team in 1987. He was substituted on in two World Cup qualifying games. In the away game against Greece he came into the game after 65 minutes with a 1-0 score for the Netherlands and scored the other two goals to make it 3-0. After that, however, he was only used again at the 1990 World Cup in Italy , where he played over 90 minutes in the group stage in the draw against England and the Irish national football team and was defeated by Richard Witschge ten minutes before the end of the round of 16 against Germany substituted in. After two more appearances in the World Cup year, he only played two more international matches four years later. His last appearance in the orange dress was against Scotland on March 23, 1994. After nine appearances with two goals over the course of almost eight years, his international career was over.
After the active career
Gillhaus worked as the chief scout for Chelsea FC in London before moving to the Belgian first division club SV Zulte Waregem as technical manager in August 2011 .
