The AC Oulu is a Finnish football club from Oulu . The club colors are blue and white. In the 2009 season they were promoted to the top division of Finland, the Veikkausliiga . Due to licensing problems, the club was withdrawn from the 2011 season and therefore started in the second division, the Ykkönen .
General
The club was founded as an independent football club in 2002. The predecessor club was FC Oulu, Finnish champions in 1979 and 1980. After the establishment and four years in the second-class Ykkönen , AC Oulu rose to the Veikkausliiga in 2006, but was 14th again the following year. After two more years in the second division, AC Oulu became champions of the Ykkönen in 2009 and rose again to the top division. The club has been playing in the renovated Raatin Stadium since the 2011 season .
