For the 2008/09 season Jovanović moved to 1. FC Kleve in the Regionalliga West , which was only the fourth-highest German division after the introduction of the third division.

In the summer of 2009 Jovanović went to the Finnish first division club Turku PS and completed five league games by the end of the season . In the following season 2010 Jovanović came to 25 league appearances and finished at the end of the season with Turku in 3rd place in the table. In addition, he won the Finnish Cup with the team . He also made three international appearances in qualifying for the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League .

After the end of the Finnish game year, during the German winter break, Jovanović moved to the 3rd division for SV Babelsberg 03 in January 2011 . He received a contract until the end of the season. After 18 games until the end of the season for the Filmstadtclub, the Croat moved to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt on June 8, 2011 . There he signed a two-year contract. He was used on the first match days of the 2011/12 season, then dropped out due to a persistent knee irritation. For the second half of the season he was transferred to the second team and fell there again after two games. At the beginning of January 2013, his contract was terminated prematurely by mutual agreement.
