Hasenhornbahn

In 2004 the original single chairlift on the Hasenhorn was removed and replaced by the double chairlift Hasenhornbahn. The double chairlift is 964 meters long. The mountain station is 520 m northwest of the mountain summit at 1026  m and the valley station on the outskirts of Todtnau at 662.45  m ; this results in a height difference of 363.55 m. A one-way lift ride takes 13.14 minutes. The lift has 89 chairs, so it can hold a maximum of 178 people. The maximum conveying capacity is up to around 602 people per hour (uphill journeys). The regular travel speed is 1.2 m / s and can be increased up to 1.8 m / s. Between each of the two armchairs there is a load suspension system on which toboggan sledges and mountain bikes as well as other loads can be transported (rucksacks, paragliders, strollers, etc.). Capacity: up to 200 sledges per hour.

Hasenhorn Coaster

Hasenhorn Coaster

On the north-north-west slope of the Hasenhorn there has been the Hasenhorn Coaster summer toboggan run of the Alpine Coaster type above Todtnau since 2004 . It is 2.9 km long and in 2004 was the longest summer toboggan run in Germany. The coaster is owned by an investor who also owns the Steinwasen-Park amusement park , located around 8.5 km north-north-west .

The driver can regulate the speed himself, a maximum of around 40 km / h is possible; then the integrated centrifugal brakes automatically brake the slide. The 80 kg sledges are firmly connected to the stainless steel rails, so they cannot fall out. They are transported uphill by cargo suspension systems mounted between the chairs of the chairlift. The slides are attached and detached automatically. Accidents occurred again and again, including those with serious injuries. At the beginning of June 2017, a new braking system with an automatic seat belt system was therefore installed.

Todtnau bike park

The Todtnau Bike Park is also located on the north-west slope of the Hasenhorn. It has two routes: the east is the 2.7 km long downhill route and the west is the 3 km wild ride route. Both start and end at the same point and have a height difference of about 450 m. The wild ride route passes under the Hasenhornbahn, which offers climbing assistance for riders and mountain bikes, and the Hasenhorn Coaster in quick succession.

Rabbit horn tower

Rabbit horn tower

The Hasenhorn tower has stood on the summit of the Hasenhorn since 2009. The observation tower was planned since 2006. It consists of 120 year old Douglas fir logs that were felled in January 2009 in the Todtnau city forest. The top of the tower is 21 m and the viewing platform 15.4 m above the site. The construction costs including the development of paths were 160,000 euros net. Of this, 70,000 euros were taken over by the state of Baden-Württemberg, 70,000 euros by the cable car company Todtnau / family Adolf Braun / Steinwasenpark and 20,000 euros by the city of Todtnau.

From the tower's viewing platform, you can see the Black Forest (including Feldberg , Herzogenhorn , Blößling , Hohe Möhr , Blauen , Belchen , Schauinsland and Todtnauberg ), the Vosges , the Swiss Jura and the Alps .

Others

About 50 m west-southwest of the mountain station of Hasenhorn train stands next to a 1009.8  m high place Berggasthaus Hasenhorn . In the cold season, if the snow conditions permit, a 3.5 km long toboggan run is prepared roughly parallel to the Hasenhornbahn.
