The Mestaruussarja 1985 was the 55th season of the Finnish football championship since its introduction in 1930. It was among twelve teams in a combined system of a main round with round trip and a subsequent knockout round with the four best teams played out. In the final, HJK Helsinki prevailed after a 0-1 defeat and a 4-1 win against Tampereen Ilves.
