Friedrich Wachtel

Friedrich Wachtel (born March 17, 1897 in Magdeburg , † September 29, 1965 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the Thuringian state parliament and deputy mayor of Erfurt .

Life

Wachtel, born in Magdeburg, was a businessman by profession , then worked as a farmer and later as managing director of the Kurt Kirchberg company in Erfurt. He joined the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in 1945. In 1946 he became district manager of the CDU in Erfurt-Weißensee, later chairman of the CDU district association in Erfurt. From 1949 to 1965 Wachtel worked as a city councilor in Erfurt and from 1950 was a member of the state board of the CDU Thuringia and from 1952 a member of the CDU district board of Erfurt . From 1950 to 1952 he was a member of the Thuringian state parliament, where he was also chairman of the finance and budget committee. From 1952 to 1958 he was a member of the Erfurt District Assembly . Between 1961 and 1965 he was Deputy Mayor of Erfurt. Wachtel was also the head of the Erfurt regional office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
