  • 1985 : Richard Ramírez committed two murders in one day in Los Angeles, which first brought media attention to the serial killer
  • 2000 : In Uganda, over 500 followers of the Movement to Restore the Ten Commandments are imprisoned in a church in Kanungu by sect leader Joseph Kibwetteere and burned alive after they have reclaimed their property given to the sect because the end of the world was prophesied on December 31, 1999 has failed.
