Ashikaga Yoshikazu

Ashikaga Yoshikazu ( Japanese 足 利 義 量 ; * August 27, 1407 ; † March 17, 1425 ) was the fifth shogun of the Ashikaga shogunate , who ruled Japan from 1423 to 1425 during the Muromachi period .

Yoshikazu was the son of the fourth Shogun, Ashikaga Yoshimochi .

After his father's resignation, Yoshikazu Seii Taishogun , but died two years later. His living father did not name a new successor for the shogunate and died some time later himself. The sixth Shogun, Yoshikazu's uncle Ashikaga Yoshinori , was determined in 1429 by lot.
