Ashikaga Yoshikatsu
Ashikaga Yoshikatsu ( Japanese 足 利 義 勝 , * March 9, 1434 , † August 16, 1443 ) was the seventh shogun of the Ashikaga shogunate and ruled from 1441 to 1443 during the Muromachi period of Japan .
Yoshikatsu was the son of the sixth shogun, Ashikaga Yoshinori .
Yoshikatsu became Seii Taishogun at the age of 8 , a year after his father Yoshinori was murdered by Akamatsu Mitsusuke during the Kakitsu Rebellion of 1441 .
However, Yoshikatsu died two years later after falling from a horse and was succeeded as the eighth shogun by his younger brother, Ashikaga Yoshimasa in 1449 .
