Carlos Arnoldo Salcido Flores (born April 2, 1980 in Ocotlán , Jalisco ) is a Mexican football player who has been under contract with the English Premier League club Fulham since 2010 . He is currently playing on loan at UANL Tigres . The 177 cm tall defender is also a long-time national player for Mexico . In his home country Mexico, Salcido is best known for his aggressive, but always fair style of play.
Career
society
In his youth Salcido played for the Mexican club CD Guadalajara , where he completed his first professional game in the Mexican Primera División against La Piedad on July 22, 2001 . After a very short time Salcido played in the regular team of Guadalajara, where he scored two goals in 105 games.
After the 2006 World Cup, Salcido left Club Deportivo Guadalajara and signed a four-year contract until 2010 with the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven . There he was part of the regular formation from the start. He scored his first goal for Eindhoven on November 18, 2006 with a long-range shot against Excelsior Rotterdam . The game ended 4-0 for PSV. He played in all 33 league games from the start and also played in the first team in the UEFA Champions League . National team
Salcido made his debut in the Mexican national team on September 8, 2004 in Trinidad, where Mexico's selection brought in a 3-1 victory.
In 2005 Salcido helped the Mexican national team to 4th place in the Confederations Cup , where he played through every game of the team from start to finish. In the semi-finals of the Cup on June 26, 2005, he scored his first international goal after a long solo against Argentina in extra time. Such rapid and aggressive advances are a hallmark of Salcido.
