Johann Christoph Bathe

Johann Christoph Bathe (born September 19, 1754 in Halle (Saale) ; † March 17, 1818 there ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Bathe attended high school in Halle and studied law at the university in his hometown . After he had defended his work Exceptionem Scti Macedoniani etiam fidejussori pro filio familias competere under Daniel Nettelbladt on September 17, 1785 , he received his doctorate in law. In 1788 he was appointed associate professor of law in Halle and on November 14, 1797 he became a full professor. Bathe was also a member of the Freemasons .
