Zenon Mauro Caravella (born March 17, 1983 in Cairns ) is an Australian football player .
Career
Caravella began his career in 2001 in the National Soccer League (NSL) at the Sydney Olympic . After setting the NSL in 2004, he moved first to the Rockdale City Suns who played in the New South Wales Premier League and for the following season back to Sydney Olympic, which now also competed in this division.
For the 2005/06 season Caravella signed a one-year professional contract with the New Zealand Knights , who competed in the newly created A-League . The season ended for the Knights beaten on the last place in the table with six points from 21 games, the midfielder was used in all 21 season games. Following the season he received an offer from the Dutch second division club FC Omniworld , for which he played the following two years. In the summer of 2008, his contract with Omniworld was no longer renewed.
In late 2008 he signed a contract with Gold Coast United for the 2009/10 season. In his debut season he was named Player of the Year there. He also received the goal of the year award .
On January 13, 2011, he signed a two-year deal with Adelaide United . In October 2011, he and 20 other Australian players were invited by Holger Osieck to a training camp for the Australian national team. After his first season with Adelaide, he received the prestigious Club Champion Award for best player in the club.
On January 23, 2013, the A-League club Newcastle Jets announced the signing of Caravella for the remainder of the 2012/2013 season and the 2013/2014 season . Newcastle are Caravella's third A-League club since 2008.
