The Sydney Olympic Football Club is an Australian football club from Sydney , which was represented for a long time in the National Soccer League (NSL) and now plays in the New South Wales Premier League .

The club was founded in 1958 as the Pan Hellenic Soccer Club by Greek immigrants . As a founding member of the NSL, the club changed its name to Sydney Olympic in 1977 . Except in the 1979/80 season, in which one was relegated to the New South Wales First Division, the team belonged to the top Australian division until 2004.

In the 1980s they won the NSL Cup twice (1983, 1985) and made it to the NSL Grand Final several times , which they won for the first time in 1990. The 1990s were less successful. Between 2001 and 2003 the club was called Olympic Sharks . In the 2001/02 season you could win the NSL title against Perth Glory , in the following season you lost in the final against the same opponent. Since the NSL was dissolved in 2004, Sydney Olympic has played in the New South Wales Premier League.
