Ian Rush MBE (born October 20, 1961 in Flint ) is a former Welsh football player and coach.
Career
society
Rush's career began in 1978 at Chester City in the Football League Third Division . In the period that followed, the young attacker established himself as a regular player and goal guarantor for his team. Finally, the top English clubs became aware of the young kicker. In 1980 he moved to Liverpool , where Rush had his greatest success. Rush scored 229 goals in 469 league games for Liverpool and was with the "Reds" in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1990 English champions. This makes him the best goalscorer in the history of Liverpool FC. He also won the FA Cup in 1986, 1989 and 1992, and the European Champion Clubs' Cup in 1981 and 1984 . 1984 was also his most successful year personally, as he was England's footballer of the year and also Europe's top scorer of the year (with 32 goals). In the 1987/88 season he made a detour to Italy to Juventus Turin , where he was not happy. Later in his career, he worked for Leeds United , Newcastle United and Wrexham FC .
In recognition of his achievements and achievements, he was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2006. In the same year, over 110,000 Liverpool fans voted for their personal top 100 players for the club (“100 players who shook the head ”). Ian Rush finished third behind Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard and ahead of Robbie Fowler and John Barnes .
