The Premier League 2018/19 was the 27th season of the Premier League and at the same time the 120th first division season in English football. The season began on August 10, 2018 with Manchester United's game against Leicester City and ended on May 12, 2019.
Defending champion was Manchester City . The Wolverhampton Wanderers played again in the Premier League after six seasons in the second and third division.
Season course
On the final day of the match, Manchester City won the championship again by one point after a season-long battle with Liverpool . Manchester United , stabilized under Ole Gunnar Solskjær , only remained in the Europa League. Newcomers Wolverhampton was able to achieve a surprising seventh place and by winning the FA Cup of champions Manchester City a place in the Europa League qualification.
After the 32nd game day, Huddersfield Town was the first to be relegated to the second-rate EFL Championship . This has not happened to a team this early since Derby County in the 2007/08 season . One game day later, Fulham was also confirmed as the future second division side, promoted Cardiff City followed on the penultimate game day.
