The 2018/19 Maltese Premier League marked the 104th season in the history of the Maltese top football league . The season began on August 17, 2018 and ended with the championship playoff on May 4, 2019.
mode
14 teams took part in the league, each of which competed against each other twice. The last two were relegated directly, the twelfth had to go into relegation.
societies
Only a few stadiums in Malta have the necessary infrastructure to hold regular Premier League matches. These are Ta 'Qali Stadium , Victor Tedesco Stadium, and Hibernians Football Ground . Each team has its own training area, but usually no matches are played on it. The games therefore usually take place on neutral ground, which essentially makes the distinction between home and away games obsolete.
