The 2006/07 Maltese Premier League was the 92nd season in the history of the Maltese top football league . It began on August 19, 2006 and ended on May 13, 2007. FC Marsaxlokk became champions for the first time .

Compared to the previous season , the newly promoted FC St. George’s and FC Marsa replaced the relegated FC Mosta and Ħamrun Spartans . Marsa was represented for the first time since the 2002/03 season , St. George's for the first time since the 1994/95 season .

mode

First, a preliminary round with home and away legs was played. The first six teams qualified for the championship round, the remaining four for the relegation round. Half of the points achieved in the preliminary round were taken over, rounded up if necessary. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. In the event of a tie, a decision game was provided for the decision about the championship and the relegation places. The last two placed had to relegate to the First Division.
