The 2010/11 Maltese Premier League was the 96th season in the history of the Maltese top football league . The league began on September 11, 2010 and ended with the last game of the play-off rounds on May 7, 2011.
After a preliminary round, consisting of a first and a second round, the league was divided into a group of six and a group of four: The best six teams played in the championship round for the title and the international starting places, the four worst teams in the play-outs against relegation. Half of the points achieved in the preliminary round were credited (half points were rounded up).
The FC Valletta was already established as champions after the fourth last match day and thus secured the 20th title win in the club's history. The Valletta FC did not lose a single game. The reigning champions FC Birkirkara was only third. The newly promoted Vittoriosa Stars had to relegate .

Compared to the 2009/10 season , the composition of the league changed as follows: The Dingli Swallows and FC Msida Saint Joseph rose after a year and seven years as the last-placed teams in the playout group back to the First Division (second highest division) and were replaced by FC Marsaxlokk and the Vittoriosa Stars , which as champions and runners-up in the First Division were first class again after one year.
Only a few stadiums in Malta had the necessary infrastructure to be able to hold regular Premier League matches. These were the Ta 'Qali Stadium , the Victor Tedesco Stadium and the Hibernians Football Ground . Each team had its own training ground, but usually no matches were played on it. The games therefore usually took place on neutral ground, which essentially makes the distinction between home and away games obsolete.
