Premier League 2016/17

The 2017/18 Maltese Premier League was the 103rd season in the history of the Maltese top football league . The season started on August 18, 2017 and ended on April 22, 2018.

mode

The league was increased to fourteen clubs this season. The teams competed against each other twice. The last two were relegated directly, the twelfth had to go into relegation.

societies

Only a few stadiums in Malta have the necessary infrastructure to hold regular Premier League matches. These are Ta 'Qali Stadium , Victor Tedesco Stadium, and Hibernians Football Ground . Each team has its own training area, but usually no matches are played on it. The games therefore usually take place on neutral ground, which essentially makes the distinction between home and away games obsolete.
