The Gzira United FC is a Maltese football club from the town of Gżira .

history

Since it was founded in 1947, Gżira played nine seasons in the highest Maltese league, the Maltese Premier League , seven seasons in a row from 1968 to 1975. The greatest success in this was the 3rd place in 1970/71. The last promotion to the first division came in 1981. Currently, Gżira United plays in the top division (Maltese Premier League).

In 1973 the team celebrated their only success in the national cup to date . Three games were necessary here. The first two ended 0-0. In the third game, FC Birkirkara were defeated 2-0.
