Unió Esportiva Sant Julià is an Andorran football club from Sant Julià de Lòria and currently plays in the first division .

history

UEFA Champions League 2009/10 against SP Tre Fiori (San Marino)

Unió Esportiva was founded in 1982. When the Andorran Football Association was constituted in 1994, the club became a member and from 1995 participated in the newly founded Primera Divisió . Unió Esportiva is one of four teams that have played permanently in the first division so far.

In 1997 Unió Esportiva reached the cup final for the first time, but had no chance against CE Principat and went down 7-0. 2001 Unió Esportiva ended the main season as first in the table, but the title was lost in the championship play-offs and the season ended as runner-up. Since they were also defeated 0-2 in the cup final FC Santa Coloma , they remained without a title. In 2002, the club repeated the mishap in the league and was again only runner-up. 2003 to 2005 each reached the cup final, but FC Santa Coloma was stronger every time. In Sant Julià, for example, they had to wait until 2004 for their first title win before beating Santa Coloma 2-1 in the second attempt in the Andorran Supercup, after they had also won this title 2: 3 after extra time last year.

In 2005 the great success came when they ended the main season with only one season defeat, prevailed in the championship play-offs with five wins and one defeat and became national champion for the first time.
