The FC Rànger’s is a football club from Andorra la Vella founded in 1981 . The club was also known as Pizzeria Venècia FC Ranger’s from 2004–2006 after its sponsor and from 2006 as Construcción Buiques FC Ranger’s .
Club history
The 2005/06 season was the most successful of the club so far. In addition to the first championship, they also made it into the Andorra cup final for the first time, which however was lost 3: 5 on penalties against record winners FC Santa Coloma .
In the 2008/09 season, the club was only able to win one of 20 league games, while the remaining games were all lost. With only three points and a goal difference of 19: 100, the team finally rose from bottom of the table in the Segona Divisió .
In 2011 they were promoted again, with FC Rànger's as second in the table benefiting from the fact that the 2nd team of FC Lusitanos was not allowed to move up. But after only one season, they were relegated to the second Andorran league.
International appearances
The club has already participated in European competitions three times: in 2005/06 they were eliminated in the first round of the UI Cup against SK Sturm Graz , in 2006/07 in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup against FK Sarajevo . After the club was able to defend its championship title in 2007, it was the first Andorran participant in the UEFA Champions League (first qualifying round). Venecia was drawn to the Moldovan champion Sheriff Tiraspol , who was able to move into the second qualifying round in the previous years. Although they lost to this opponent in both games, the Andorrans showed a strong performance especially in the first leg in Moldova and only lost to Serif 2-0. In the domestic DEVK Arena, the support of the Andorran spectators didn't help, FC Rànger's lost 3-0 and was eliminated in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.
