The First Division 1944/45 was the 30th season in the history of the highest Maltese football league and the first after the interruption due to the Second World War . The champions were for the third time the FC Valletta .

Compared to the previous season , FC St. George’s , FC Msida Saint Joseph and the Xewkija Tigers no longer took part. Instead, FC Floriana took part again for the first time in six years .

The season was played in a simple round. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. If there was a tie, a playoff was played for the championship.
