The First Division 1929/30 was the 19th season in the history of the highest Maltese football league . The champions became the fifth time the Sliema Wanderers , who were able to prevail in the play-off against FC St. George’s without a fight .

Compared to the previous season , champions FC Floriana did not participate. After a one year break, Sliema Rangers , FC St. George’s and FC Cottonera took part again.

The season was played in a simple round. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. If there was a tie, a playoff was played for the championship.
