The 2007/08 Maltese Premier League marked the 93rd season in the history of the Maltese top football league . It began on August 26, 2007 and ended on May 16, 2008. The championship was for the 19th time, Valletta FC .

Compared to the previous season , the newly promoted Ħamrun Spartans and FC Mqabba replaced the relegated FC St. George’s and FC Marsa . Ħamrun was represented for the first time since the 2005/06 season , Mqabba for the first time since the 1993/94 season .

mode

First, a preliminary round with home and away legs was played. The first six teams qualified for the championship round, the remaining four for the relegation round. Half of the points achieved in the preliminary round were taken over, rounded up if necessary. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. In the event of a tie, a decision game was provided for the decision about the championship and the relegation places. The last two placed had to relegate to the First Division.
