The First Division 1966/67 was the 52nd season in the history of the highest Maltese football league . Hibernian's Paola became the master for the second time .

Compared to the previous season , newly promoted FC St. George’s relegated FC Birkirkara replaced . St. George's was represented in the House of Lords for the first time since the 1963/64 season .

The season was played back and forth. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. In the event of a tie, a decision game was played for the championship and the relegation places. There was no relegation.
