The 2017/18 Welsh Premier League was the 26th season of the top Welsh division in men's football . It began on August 11, 2017 and ended with the final of the Europa League playoffs on May 20, 2018. The reigning champions were The New Saints FC .

mode

The twelve teams initially competed against each other twice in a first half of the season, so that each club played 22 games. The league was then divided, with the six best-placed teams playing for the championship and international starting places and the six worst-placed teams against relegation and a place in the Europa League playoffs. In these divided rounds, the teams competed against each other twice. All results from the preliminary round were adopted.

The best-placed team in the championship round became Welsh champions and took part in qualifying for the 2018/19 Champions League . The runner-up was entitled to start in the qualification for the Europa League 2018/19 . The remaining four teams in the championship round and the best team in the relegation round played in a playoff tournament for last place in the Europa League qualification.

Preliminary round

The six best-placed clubs reached the championship round, the teams in positions seven to twelve played against relegation. It should be noted that the number of points achieved in each of the 22 games in the preliminary round was transferred to the individual groups.

    Relegation round

    The winner of the relegation round got the chance to qualify for an international starting place via the Europa League playoffs . The teams in eleventh and twelfth place were relegated to the second division.

    Europa League playoffs

    The teams in places five and six of the championship round and the winner of the relegation round reached the playoffs. In the knock-out system , a subscriber has been at the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2018/19 determined. Two rounds were played on May 12th and May 20th, 2018.
