Bala Town ( Welsh : Clwb Pêl Droed Bala ) is a Welsh football club from Bala , which currently plays in the Welsh Premier League . The home games are played in the Maes Tegid Stadium on Lake Bala ( Llyn Tegid in Welsh , the largest lake in Wales).
history
Predecessor clubs were Bala North End and Bala South End , which were rivals until 1897 and then merged to form Bala Thursdays in 1921 . The team played their games in the castle park, today's cricket field. In the early 1950s, the club moved to its new field in Maes Tegid.
The club played mostly in the second or third division until he was promoted to the League of Wales in the 2003/04 season and held there in 4th place the following season. In the 2006/07 season, floodlights were installed around the playing field and 300 seats, which in 2012 were expanded to 500 seats.
In the 2012/13 season Bala Town qualified as the winner of the relegation round to the Welsh playoffs for the UEFA Europa League . Here the club was able to prevail with three wins against three clubs in the championship round and thus played internationally for the first time in the 2013/14 season .
