Airbus UK (officially: Airbus UK Broughton Football Club ) is a football club from the Welsh town of Broughton in the county of Flintshire , which currently plays in the Cymru Premier , the top division of Welsh.

history

The club was founded in 1946 as Vickers-Armstrong and has been renamed several times since then. de Havillands , Hawker Siddeley , British Aerospace and BAE Systems were all previous club names.

In 2000 one rose for the first time in the Cymru Alliance , the second highest Welsh division, on. With the rise, the name Airbus UK Broughton was also adopted. Airbus UK played in the second division for four years before the 2004 championship made it into the top Welsh league, the Welsh Premier League .

In the League of Wales, Airbus UK established itself after initial difficulties, when it narrowly escaped relegation in the first two seasons. The club achieved their best result so far in the 2012/13 season when they finished the season in second place behind the reigning champions The New Saints FC , qualifying for the UEFA Europa League for the first time . In 2017 Airbus UK was relegated from the League of Wales.
