Broughton, Flintshire

Broughton (in Welsh : Brychdyn) is a village in Wales . It belongs to the Flintshire Unitary Authority in north-east Wales. The village is right on the border between England and Wales. The next major city on the English side is Chester .

Aircraft construction

Broughton is one of Airbus' production facilities in the UK and has Hawarden regional airport , which is directly integrated into the Airbus site.

Broughton has a long tradition in the manufacture of aircraft, parts for the De Havilland Aircraft Company ( "Mosquito" and De Havilland DH.106 Comet ) were made there as early as the 1940s and 1950s .

Today the wings for the Airbus A320 family as well as the A330 and A340 are produced in Broughton . The individual parts assembly of the wings of the Airbus A400M and A350 also takes place. They also build wings and fuselages for the Raytheon Hawker 800 .

There is a partnership with the French community of Auzeville-Tolosane .
