Fotballklubben Haugesund is a Norwegian football club from Haugesund . The club's greatest success, in addition to 13 years of excellence, was reaching the cup finals in 2007 and 2019

history

FK Haugesund came into being after the end of the 1993 season when SK Haugar and SK Djerv decided in 1919 to merge their first teams and move them to a new club. The local rival SK Vard Haugesund was also involved in the merger plans, but the general meeting of the association decided against participation.

In the following years the team rose from the third division to the Tippeligaen , which was first reached in 1997. After two seasons, FK Haugesund had to relegate back to bottom in the table, but managed to get promoted again as the second division champions. In the Tippeligaen, the team together IK Start again occupied only one relegation place.

After several midfield places in the second division, FK Haugesund missed relegation there in 2004. As a runner-up behind the non-eligible second representation of Viking FK , they managed to get back up immediately. The club established itself in the following years in the back of the second division. In 2007, FK Haugesund reached the Norwegian Cup final, where the team lost to Lillestrøm SK with a 2-0 defeat . As champions of the Adeccoligaen 2009 , the club made it to the Tippeligaen and reached a good 6th place in the table in the 2010 season .
