Tippeligaen 2009

The Tippeligaen 2010 was the 66th season of the highest Norwegian football league and the 20th season under the name Tippeligaen . Between March 13 and November 7, 2010, the 16 first division teams played against each other in a simple round-trip round, so that after 30 days of play the national champions, the other European Cup participants, the participants in the relegation games and the relegated teams to the Adeccoligaen were determined. On November 25th of the year after the second leg of the relegation final, all sporting decisions were made.

Rosenborg BK won the 22nd championship title in the club's history at the end of the season. The club referred Vålerenga Fotball and Tromsø IL to the other European Cup places. While Sandefjord Fotball and Kongsvinger IL had to relegate directly, Hønefoss BK missed relegation in the relegation round. Fredrikstad FK managed to get promoted back to the Tippeligaen after a year of being second .

Season course

At the beginning of the season, other teams led the table. The first games Aalesunds FK was at the top. However, everything stayed very close together. Up to the ninth matchday, Aalesund and the following Tromsø IL were never more than two points ahead of the other teams. Then Tromsø sat down to five points (11th matchday). Then Rosenborg started a winning streak: Rosenborg won ten of the next 11 games, with one draw. As a result, they took over the championship lead on the 14th matchday and after the 22nd matchday they had the maximum advantage of 9 points over pursuer Vålerenga Fotball for the first time. The team from the capital also played very successfully and was able to ensure participation in the Europa League after the 26th matchday . Tromsø IL finally finished 3rd and will also play internationally next season. It is curious that the first three places in the table from the 16th to the 30th matchday were always taken by the same teams.

Even in the relegation battle, the rankings of the last three teams remained the same after the 23rd matchday until the end of the season. Promoted Hønefoss BK secured the relegation rank. Co-promoted Kongsvinger IL had to relegate to the Adeccoligaen after only one year . Sandefjord Fotball was relegated with four games to go .
