history
Between 1938 and 1961, FFK was Norwegian football champion nine times, making it one of Norway's leading football teams. The club could not build on this time again later.
1984 had to relegate FFK from the top division and spent almost the next 20 years in the two lower leagues. In 2002 they managed to move up from the 3rd to the 2nd division, and in the following season they returned to the Tippeliga , the top Norwegian league. The 2006 season was crowned with the first cup win in over 20 years after a 3-0 final win against Sandefjord Fotball . In the Tippeligaen 2008 the club was Norwegian runner-up behind Stabæk Fotball . After 14th place in the 2009 season and the lost relegation game against the neighbor from Sarpsborg, Fredrikstad had to leave the top division again. In 2010 the club celebrated a direct resurgence, in the relegation round they prevailed against Hønefoss BK. In 2012, however, they descended again. After five years in the 1st division (2nd level), FFK has been playing in the third division called PostNord-Ligaen since 2018 .
