Ole Martin Årst (born July 19, 1974 in Bergen ) is a former Norwegian football player.
Career
society
Årst played in the 1994 season for Skarp Tromsø in the 2nd divisjon , the third Norwegian division. For the 1995 season, the 1.90 m tall striker moved to the Tippeligaen for Tromsø IL . He made his first division debut on April 22, 1995 against Ham-Kam . In 1996 he won the Norwegian Cup with Tromsø. He scored a goal in the 2-1 final win against FK Bodø / Glimt .
In 1997 he moved to Belgium for RSC Anderlecht . In two seasons he came to 33 games and scored eleven goals. In 1999 he moved to KAA Gent within Belgium . In his only season for Ghent, he was the top scorer in the 1st division with 30 goals . In 2000 he moved again within Belgium, this time to Standard Liège . In three seasons he played 72 games and scored 41 goals.
After six years in Belgium, Ole Martin Årst moved back to his former club Tromsø IL in the summer of 2003. With a goal to the 2-1 win over Rosenborg BK he celebrated a successful debut in his first game. In the 2004 season Årst was Tromsø's top scorer with eleven goals. In the 2005 season he won the top scorer's crown in the Tippeligaen with 16 goals.
In July 2007, Årst, as captain of the Tromsø IL, moved within the Tippeligaen to the IK start in Kristiansand. He signed a 3½ year contract. He scored his first goal against his ex-club from Tromsø. At the end of the season Årst rose with his new club as table thirteenth in the Adeccoligaen .
From January 2012 to 2013 Årst played again for Tromsø IL and ended his career as a player there in 2013.
National team
Årst has played in the Norwegian national football team since 2000 . He played a total of 22 games and scored two goals. It premiered on January 31, 2000 in the game against Iceland .
In qualifying for the 2006 World Cup , he completed four missions. In the group stage he played against Slovenia and Scotland . He scored his first international goal in the 2-1 home defeat against Scotland. Norway finished second after the group stage and had to play two relegation games against the Czech Republic . He played in both games. Norway lost both games 0-1.
Årst scored his second international goal in a 2-1 defeat in the friendly against Mexico in San Francisco .
During the qualification for the EM 2008 he came only to one use. In the away game against Greece , he came on in the 85th minute for Anders Rambekk .
