Ham-Kam ( Hamarkameratene ) is a football club from Hamar , Norway . The club was founded on August 10, 1918 under the name Freidig . Home is the Briskeby-Gressbane stadium in Hamar with a capacity of 8,000 seats. The team plays in green and white jerseys.
The best placement so far in the Tippeliga , the highest Norwegian league, was third place in 1970. In the Norwegian cup competition, the semifinals, which were last reached in 1989, have not yet been reached.
After the 1995 season, the club had to relegate to the second division. With the new coach Ståle Solbakken , after seven years in the 2nd and 3rd class, winning the Adeccoliga , the second highest division, and thus the return to the top division could be celebrated in 2003 . In the 2004 season, the green-whites were therefore again represented in the Tippeligaen, and although the club had little financial means compared to the other teams, it was surprisingly possible to achieve fifth place. The 2006 season ended the club as penultimate and thus had to relegate again. In the 2007 season Ham-Kam managed to get promoted back to the Tippeliga immediately, but had to leave the Adeccoliga after only one year. The 2014 season ended not only with the sporting relegation to the 2nd division, but also with the license withdrawal due to the economic situation.
