The OBOS-ligaen 2020 is the 58th season of the second highest Norwegian football league and the sixth under the name OBOS-ligaen . Originally it was supposed to start on April 5, 2020 and end on November 7, 2020. Due to the corona restrictions , the start was postponed to July 3, 2020; the series is scheduled to end on December 7, 2020.

Last season's newcomers Aalesund , Sandefjord and Kristiansand were replaced by those who were relegated from the elite series Lillestrøm , Tromsø and Ranheim . Åsane, Grorud and Stjørdals-Blink came from the PostNord-Liga and replaced the relegated Notodden, Skeid and Tromsdalen.

Nest-Sotra ceded its place in the OBOS league to the newly founded Øygarden FK.

mode

The 16 teams play against each other twice on 30 match days in a first round and a second half. The champion and the runner-up advance directly to the elite series. The winner of the promotion round has the opportunity to advance in two play-off games against the 14th of the elite series. The last two teams are relegated directly to the PostNord-Liga , the third from bottom must be relegated against relegation.
