The 2. divisjon 1977 was the 15th season of the second highest Norwegian football league .

mode

A total of 30 teams were divided into three groups. In groups A and B, ten teams each played that did not come from the north of the country. The two group winners were promoted to the 1st division. The runners-up in group A and B played the third climber together with the winner of group C. The last two teams were relegated to the 3rd divisjon.

In Group C ten teams from the provinces of Nordland , Helgeland and Troms played . The winner qualified for the play-offs for promotion.
