The 2. divisjon 1970 was the eighth season of the second highest Norwegian football league .

mode

A total of 30 teams were divided into four groups. In groups A and B, eight teams each played that did not come from the north of the country. The two group winners rose to the 1st division, while the last two in both groups were relegated to the 3rd division.

Eight teams from the provinces of Nordland , Helgeland and Troms , as well as six teams from the province of Finnmark in District XI played in the district group IX-X . The two winners qualified for the northern Norwegian final, but were not eligible for promotion to the 1st Divisjon.
