The Gjemselund Stadium ( Norwegian Gjemselund Stadium ) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Norwegian city of Kongsvinger in the province of Innlandet . The football club Kongsvinger IL (short: KIL) has its sporting home here. The sports facility on the banks of the Glomma , inaugurated in 1953 , now offers fans 5,824 seats. The visitor record comes from June 26, 1983 from the game Kongsvinger IL against Vålerenga Oslo (0: 3) with 6,794 spectators.
In 1986 a new main grandstand was built and the cinder track was replaced by a plastic track. A new lawn was laid in 1990. Until 2008 the stadium was used for athletics. The natural turf was replaced in 2009 by an artificial turf with underfloor heating fed by district heating . In the summer of the year the floodlight system (1,200 lux ) and irrigation system were renewed.
