Innlandet (German: "Inland") is a Norwegian province ( Fylke ) that was created on January 1, 2020 from the merger of the provinces of Hedmark and Oppland without the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner . The basis was a resolution passed by Storting on June 8, 2017, which provided for a reduction to eleven areas as part of a regional reform . The name was set on January 15, 2018, as was the number of 57 members of parliament ( fylkesting ). The seat of the Fylkeskommune is Hamar , the seat of the Fylkesmann and parts of the Fylkeskommune Lillehammer .
As the only province in Norway, Innlandet - according to its name - has no access to the sea. It borders Sweden to the east, Viken to the south, Vestland to the west, Møre og Romsdal to the northwest and Trøndelag to the northeast . The province is the northern half of the country's part Østlandet be.
The first election for the newly created province took place on September 9, 2019. 300,596 people were entitled to vote. The first Fylkesordfører was Even Aleksander Hagen from the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap).
Innlandet is divided into 46 municipalities. While in the other county municipalities are amalgamated, in Innlandet all existing ones have been preserved.
Blazon : "Three lines in silver (white) on a green background, pointing upwards and forwards, anchored in Innlandet's history and future as a node." The peaks can be understood as the three mountainous countries and national parks Jotunheimen, Dovrefjell and Rondane with the Galdhøpiggen above and Mjøsa as a "drop" below. Green and silver also stand for the forests and rivers of the region.
