Sel is a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Innlandet at the end of the Ottadals and in the upper Gudbrandsdalen .

The administrative center is the city of Otta . Another larger settlement is North Sel .

The municipality has an area of ​​905 km² with a north-south extension of 44.1 km and an east-west extension of 47.6 km. With 5739 inhabitants (as of February 27, 2020) the population density is 6 inhabitants per square kilometer.
