Nikolaus Firmkranz (* 1979 in Tulln an der Donau ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Nikolaus Firmkranz first attended the Federal Institute for Social Education from 1994 to 1997. In 1997 he began his acting studies at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , which he completed in 2001 as a Magister Artium .

He then had theater engagements, initially at the Theaterhaus Mitte in Berlin (2004) and at the Kammerspiele Paderborn (2005) and was active in the independent theater scene in Berlin for almost 10 years. In 2006 he played the composer Alexander Zemlinsky in Paulus Manker's Alma production at the Kronprinzenpalais in Berlin . It followed u. a. another engagement at the Fritz Rémond Theater in Frankfurt am Main . In 2009 he appeared at the “Od-Theater” in Basel as Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream (director: Hans-Dieter Jendreyko ). In 2010 he played in the "Hoftheater Kreuzberg".

In 2011, Firmkranz went to Vienna , where he had engagements at numerous independent Viennese theaters ( Kosmos Theater Wien , Theater Drachengasse , Werk X ). Since 2011 he has appeared repeatedly in productions by Adi Hirschal at the Wiener Lustspielhaus . In 2012 he played the waiter Armand in the divorce comedy Der Graf von Laxenburg in an adaptation of the Lehár operetta Der Graf von Luxemburg by Adi Hirschal at the “Laxenburger Kultursommer” . He has also been a member of the Aktionstheater Ensemble since 2013 .

In 2016 he played Münz-Matthias in Keith Warner's production of Brecht / Weill's theater classic Die Dreigroschenoper at the Theater an der Wien . In 2018 he was at the Vienna Lustspielhaus of the musician Clemens in Adi Hirschal's Molière production The Imaginary Sick . He was also seen in the 2018/19 season at the Wiener Metropol in Adi Hirschal's Don Giovanni adaptation as Masetto. In 2019 he appeared at the Theater Forum Schwechat in the comedy Reigen 51 by Michael Kehlmann , Carl Merz and Helmut Qualtinger .

Firmkranz has also appeared in front of the camera in numerous film and TV productions. He turned u. a. with Barbara Albert , Rüdiger Heinze , André Schneider and Michael Riebl . He acted in several Austrian TV series. In the 8th season of the TV series SOKO Kitzbühel (2009) he took on one of the episode roles as a witness and later murder victim Marco Pecic.

Since 2008 he has been a lecturer at various drama schools in Berlin and Vienna as well as at the Lower Austria University of Education. Firmkranz lives in Vienna.
