The Fosshaugane Campus is a football stadium in the Norwegian town of Sogndalsfjøra , Sogndal municipality in Fylke Vestland . It is the home of the Sogndal Fotball football club . The stadium is located in the vicinity of the University of Western Norway ( Høgskulen på Vestlandet ) and the secondary schools. By mid-2006, the new stadium was built on the site of the old stadium, with 4,500 seats and built in 1926. The stadium owns u. a. a VIP area and a family grandstand
The venue currently has three new grandstands with seats; the main stand and two back-end stands. The unused back straight Bjørkesida is a narrow, uncovered standing room made of wood. This dilapidated rank was to be replaced by a modern new building. The club had to stop the plans for the new grandstand due to financial problems. In December 2010 the Fylke Sogn og Fjordane decided after negotiations to take over the construction of the grandstand. It is estimated to cost around NOK 13.75 million . The club will then rent the grandstand. Completion is planned for summer 2011.
