The Aker Stadium is the club's own football stadium of the Norwegian football club Molde FK . The city of Molde is located in the Møre og Romsdal province , Vestlandet region . The venue now offers fans 11,800 covered seats, including 10,100 seats, and is only a few minutes' walk from the city center. The total cost of construction was NOK 212 million (approx. € 26 million ). The arena was largely financed as a gift for the city by businessmen and entrepreneurs Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten ; two of the richest men in Norway.
history
The arena, inaugurated on April 18, 1998 with the league game Molde FK against Lillestrøm SK (4-0), replaced the old Molde Idrettspark . At that time it was still called Nye Molde Stadium ( German New Molde Stadium ). On May 3, 2006, the Norwegian group Aker Solutions , whose boss is financier Kjell Inge Røkke, bought the name rights. The sports facility is also nicknamed Røkke Lokka . In 1999 the sports facility designed by architect Kjell Kosberg was nominated for the FIABCI Prix d'Excellence architecture prize and won the Norwegian City Award in the same year .
Furnishing
The stadium's equipment includes a .:
- 13 inputs
- 2,800 m² commercial space
- 13 VIP boxes
- a restaurant with 200 seats; which is also suitable for events such as conferences or weddings
- a cafeteria
- 9 kiosks
- 52 toilets (six of them handicapped accessible)
- modern facilities for journalists
Since October 1997, the play area with underfloor heating has consisted of a hybrid turf . It consists of a natural turf that is reinforced with around 20 million artificial turf fibers. The artificial fibers are inserted 20 centimeters into the ground. The lawn takes root with the synthetic fibers and makes the lawn surface more resistant. The Rica Seilet Hotel , the tallest building in Molde and also designed by Kjell Kosberg, is located in the immediate vicinity of the stadium .

The Aker Stadium has twice hosted a match between the Norwegian men's national football team. The women played an international match in Molde.
