Lillestrøm SK ( Lillestrøm Sportsklubb ) is a football club from Lillestrøm , Norway . The club was founded on April 2, 1917 through the merger of two local clubs. Home is the Åråsen Stadium with a capacity of 12,000 seats.

Lillestrøm SK has won five Norwegian championship titles so far and achieved six cup wins.

history

The greatest success to date at European level came in 1977 with a 2-0 home win over Ajax Amsterdam in the European Cup . The return leg in Amsterdam was lost 4-0.

On November 13, 2006, the German trainer Uwe Rösler was dismissed. Tom Nordlie was signed for him, but he resigned on May 29, 2008.

In the 2007 season Lillestrøm won the Norwegian Cup for the fifth time in the club's history. In the final they defeated the second division FK Haugesund 2-0.
