Heiðar Helguson (born August 22, 1977 in Akureyri ) is a former Icelandic football player .

Career

Heiðar Helguson's first career station was Þróttur Reykjavík in his native Iceland . In January 1998 he moved to Lillestrøm SK . After two years in Lillestrøm , the striker moved to England for Watford FC , where he remained loyal until 2005. Until 2007 Heiðar played for Fulham FC . He then moved to the Bolton Wanderers . He received a three-year contract and is said to have cost around 3 million euros in transfer. In November 2008 he was loaned to the Queens Park Rangers. In January 2009 he was given a two and a half year contract. In 2013 he ended his active career.

Heiðar Helguson has played 55 times for the Icelandic national football team and scored 12 goals.
