Markus Kiesenebner (born April 21, 1979 in Linz ) is an Austrian national soccer player . In 2009 he had to end his active career due to a serious knee injury. Markus Kiesenebner founded MKI International Holding in 2009. He is also director of MK&P and board member of Austria Independent Group.
Club career
Markus Kiesenebner began his career in the youth team of the USW Babenberg. His next stops were FC Linz and finally LASK Linz , where he also made his Bundesliga debut in 1999. Markus' father Karl Kiesenebner was already a successful first division player at LASK. Markus Kiesenebner moved to FK Austria Wien in 2001. In 2002–03 he was awarded by Austria Wien to SV Pasching and he helped SV Pasching to qualify for the UEFA Cup for the first time. They were also very successful in the UI Cup competition. With a 4-0 home win at the Paschinger Waldstadion and a 1-1 away win against SV Werder Bremen, they reached the UI Cup final against FC Schalke 04. Markus Kiesenebner equalized the 1-1 draw in Bremen with his goal.
Due to these successes and achievements, Markus Kiesenebner was ordered back from Austria Wien. He played for Austria Wien as a defensive midfielder, was Austrian champion and ÖFB Cup winner in 2006. Internationally, in the 2004/05 season, he played with Austria Wien in the UEFA Cup group stage against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Real Zaragoza, Club Brugge and Utrecht. Austria Wien reached the UEFA Cup quarter-finals with fantastic victories against Athletic Bilbao and Real Zaragoza. But they failed against FC Parma and missed promotion to the semi-finals against CSKA Moscow. (UEFA Cup Winner 2004-2005)
In June 2007 Markus Kiesenebner signed a contract with Lillestrøm SK in the Norwegian Tippeligaen . After moving to Lillestrøm, Kiesenebner was plagued by injuries. After another season of injuries in 2008, an agreement was reached between the two parties and the contract was terminated. Two months later he signed a contract with the SCR Altach.
In 2009 Markus Kiesenebner ended his active career due to a serious knee injury.

Markus Kiesenebner played 16 times for the Austrian U16 national team and scored 3 goals, 22 international games for the Austrian U18 national team with 1 goal and 21 times for the Austrian U21 national team and scored 3 goals. He made his debut for Austria national team in April 2004 against Luxembourg and completed 12 international matches and scored one goal.

Markus Kiesenebner is also a member of the board of the private network - Austria Independent Group. In 2013 Markus Kiesenebner also founded his own brand called MK21.
