The FC Juniors Upper Austria until July 2017 FC Pasching , is an Austrian football club from the Upper Austrian municipality of Pasching . It was re-established as FC Superfund Pasching in 2007 after ASKÖ Pasching , which last appeared as FC Superfund, moved to Carinthia and the associated renaming to SK Austria Kärnten . The greatest success of the club is winning the ÖFB Cup as the first third division team in the history of the competition in the 2012/13 season and the associated qualification for the play-offs of the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League , in which the club, however, is on DG Estoril Praia failed.

From 2014 to 2018, the first men's team that was spun off into FC Juniors GmbH no longer played independently, but under the name LASK Juniors OÖ (until 2017 SPG FC Pasching / LASK Juniors ) in a syndicate with the second men's team of LASK in the third-rate regional league middle . With the return to the 2nd league for the 2018/19 season , the club will again compete with an independent team, which, however, actually functions as the LASK farm team .

The club started as a syndicate with SV Wallern in the 2007/08 season in the fifth highest Austrian level. After the immediate championship title and the associated promotion to the fourth division, the Upper Austrian League , Wallern started, as agreed, in the lowest division and the club was financially compensated for this sporting descent.

The FC Pasching rose after the immediate championship title again in 2008/09 in the Upper Austrian League in the third highest level, the Regionalliga Mitte .

In the 2009/10 season , FC Pasching, at 27.5 years, had by far the highest average age in the entire Middle Regional League. During this season there were eleven players in the squad who were already over 30 years of age. Two of them ( Josef Schicklgruber and Edi Glieder ) were already over 40 years old.

After the first half of the 2009/10 season, Pasching was four points behind the leaders WAC / St. Andrä in second place in the table. However, the club announced that it did not want to apply for a license for the First League . After the predecessor club ASKÖ Pasching had moved to Carinthia, the Bundesliga had introduced a regulation that prohibited a club from being promoted to the first league unless it had played for at least three years in a league played by its regional association. Since FC Pasching had only played one year each in the highest and second highest Upper Austrian level, the club did not meet this requirement.

In terms of sport, Pasching achieved the championship title in the Regionalliga 2010; because of the waiver of a license application for the first division , however, the club were deducted 13 points. After the season, the club's board resigned; a new board had to be elected.

Since Superfund quit as the main sponsor at the end of the 2010/11 season and could not be adequately replaced, the club was forced to massively cut the budget for the next season. As a result, almost the entire professional squad was replaced with a new one, consisting mainly of amateur players. At the end of the autumn season, Pasching was in last place. At the beginning of 2012, a cooperation with FC Red Bull Salzburg was entered into. The first consequence of this cooperation was the takeover of the coaching position by Gerald Baumgartner , the previous coach of the Salzburg second team. The club managed to stay up thanks to an 8-0 victory on the last day of the match against the Graz AK, who were already champions .

In the 2012/13 season Pasching was again at the other end of the table. The team won the autumn championship and overwintered with a four point lead over LASK . This lead was lost in the spring and Pasching finished the season two points behind the Linzers in second place.

In the Austrian Football Cup 2012/13 , the Pasching team achieved the greatest sensation in the history of this competition. After Austria Salzburg , Austria Lustenau and Austria Klagenfurt had been eliminated in the first three rounds, the elite of Austrian football waited for the regional league team in the last three rounds. In the quarter-finals, Pasching defeated Rapid Vienna 1-0 away. In the semifinals, the success of the Paschinger away team at cooperation partner Red Bull Salzburg continued when the Baumgartner-Elf turned a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 victory. With FC Pasching, a third division team was in the final for the first time in the history of the ÖFB Cup. Opponent in Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium was Austria Vienna . The Paschinger finally created the big sensation and decided the final for themselves. Daniel Sobkova scored the 1-0 lead shortly after the break, which was subsequently defended. With this, FC Pasching defeated the champions, the runners-up and third place in the 2012/13 Bundesliga season without ever having the home advantage. By winning the cup, the Upper Austrians qualified for the play-off round of the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League , where they met the Portuguese club GD Estoril Praia and were eliminated with two defeats.

At the beginning of September 2013, successful coach Gerald Baumgartner , who moved to St. Pölten , left the club, while former assistant coach Martin Hiden took over the team. In the 2013/14 ÖFB Cup , the Paschinger team were able to eliminate the next Bundesliga club as defending champions in the second round with Wacker Innsbruck before they were eliminated on penalties against the WAC . In the championship, the season goal of the championship title was missed. As in the previous year, the Paschinger team had to give way to LASK, which this time also achieved promotion to the first division .

2014–2018: Syndicate with LASK and renaming

Even before that, it became clear that Red Bull is leaving Pasching as a sponsor. The club then entered into a cooperation with LASK, which provided for joint youth work and the use of the Pasching training center by LASK . After LASK's promotion and thus the fixed return of LASK to professional football, it was announced in June 2014 that FC Pasching would play in the 2014/15 season under the name SPG FC Pasching / LASK Juniors in a syndicate with the second team from Linz. This involved the replacement of the entire squad and the loss of an independent team. The syndicate was not allowed to rise.

In July 2017, FC Pasching was renamed FC Juniors OÖ . The syndicate changed its name to LASK Juniors OÖ . In addition, the former hobby club SV Pasching 16 was integrated into FC Juniors OÖ and has since formed its second team, which competes in the eight-class 2nd class north-east under the name SV Pasching 16 OÖ Juniors . Since the 2018/19 season, this has been an independent club in the lower house under the name "SV Pasching 16".

Since 2018: present

After LASK Juniors OÖ rose to the 2nd division in the 2017/18 season, the syndicate was dissolved. FC Juniors OÖ plays as an independent club in the second division, but continues to cooperate with LASK.
