history

The amateurs of Vienna Austria participated in a syndicate with Prater SV in the 1997/98 season for the first time in the ÖFB Cup after they had defeated UFC St. Peter / Au in the preliminary round . After the SR Donaufeld Wien was thrown out of the competition in the first round , they were eliminated in the second round against the Bundesliga club and rival SK Rapid Wien . In the 1997/98 season, the game community became champions in the Vienna City League and rose to the Regionalliga Ost . In the first season in the Regionalliga Prater SV / Austria Amateure finished eleventh in the Eastern League. In the 1999/2000 season the Austria Amateurs finished seventh in the table, in the cup they failed in the first round at PSV Vienna . In 2000, the cooperation with Prater SV, which went into the depths of Viennese football, was finally ended.

In the 2000/01 season, the Austria Amateurs took eleventh place in the Eastern League. In the 2001/02 season they escaped as 13th with two points ahead of the relegation places just barely going into the city league. In the 2002/03 season they took part in the Cup a third time, but again in the first round against Bundesliga club SV Austria Salzburg it was the end of the line. You finished eighth in the league. In the 2003/04 season, fifth place achieved the best season position up to that point. In the 2004/05 season they failed in the cup in the first round at Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg , but they were extremely successful in the league and were champions of the Regionalliga Ost with a lead of four points over SC-ESV Parndorf in 1919 , which was the first time rose to the second division .

In their debut season in professional football, the Jung-Veilchen promptly finished fourth - their best placement in team history to date. In addition, they reached the round of 16 for the first time in the 2005/06 Cup after victories against SC Eisenstadt and Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg , in which they were clearly defeated by Bundesliga club SV Ried . In the 2006/07 season, the team finished eighth in the league, in the cup they failed in round one at the regional division SK St. Andrä . In the 2007/08 season they finished fifth in the table at the end of the season. In the 2008/09 season they finished sixth, and they were particularly successful in this season in the Cup: After defeating WSG Wattens in the first round , they also beat SC Weiz in the second round . In the second round, as in 2005/06, they defeated Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg and in the quarter-finals they won the Viennese derby of amateurs against SK Rapid Wien II . In the semi-finals, however, they lost to league rivals FC Admira Wacker Mödling .

In the 2009/10 season, the cup was back in the second round after losing to the regional division FC Blau-Weiß Linz . In the league they finished tenth in the table that season. This would have kept the class after SK Austria Kärnten had not received a second division license, but after the 2009/10 season the ÖFB forbade second team of Bundesliga clubs in professional football, whereupon the Red Bull Juniors and FK Austria Wien II were forced to relegate to the regional league had to. Back in amateur football, they finished third in the Eastern League in the 2010/11 season. In the cup they defeated the league rivals Wiener Sportklub in the preliminary round , in the first round SV Mattersburg II, which also plays in the Eastern League, and finally lost to rivals Rapid in the penalty shootout in the second round. In the 2011/12 season they were again third in the regional league and again reached the second round in the cup, in which, however, they had no chance against the second division LASK .

In the 2012/13 season, the Austria Amateurs were runner-up, three points behind Master Parndorf, as well as in the 2013/14 season, when they were seven points behind champions Floridsdorfer AC . A slump followed in the 2014/15 season and the Austria Amateurs finished tenth, with only a three point lead on the relegation ranks. In the 2015/16 season things went up again and the team finished the season in a secure midfield in eighth place. In the 2016/17 season they even came in third again. The 2017/18 season ended in fourth place in the table. Due to a league reform, second teams were again admitted to the second division. After the Eastern League had three promotion places available and the runner-up ASK Ebreichsdorf had waived an application for approval, the Austria Amateurs rose to fourth after eight years in the second division.

After the promotion, the team renamed itself to Young Violets Austria Wien in June 2018 . The first season after the promotion, the team finished in 13th place. In the 2019/20 season they started the season catastrophically with two points from the first eight games, but only lost four games between the seventh matchday and ended the season in fourth place, which equalized the best placement in team history from the 2005/06 season.
