history

The amateurs of Mattersburg became champions of the Burgenland League in the 2006/07 season and were promoted to the Regionalliga Ost for the first time . In the debut season in the third-highest division, the team finished twelfth and narrowly escaped immediate relegation with only two points ahead of the relegation ranks. In the 2008/09 season, he was placed in the top 10 for the first time in tenth place. In the 2009/10 season they came in ninth and thus stood at the end of the season for the first time in a single-digit table position. In the 2010/11 season, the Mattersburg amateurs took part in the ÖFB Cup for the first time after defeating SV Neuberg in the preliminary round . In the first round, however, they failed due to league rivals FK Austria Wien II . In the league they finished tenth again in the 2010/11 season.

In the 2011/12 season the team finished eleventh, but they only had a two-point lead on the relegation ranks. In the 2012/13 season Mattersburg II achieved the best placement in team history: They finished sixth in the Eastern League. In the 2013/14 season they were similarly successful with seventh place. However, the 2014/15 season was anything but successful: After they had only played a draw against First Vienna FC on the last match day and the Vienna sports club won their game against SV Schwechat at the same time , the Mattersburg amateurs were 13th after eight years relegate back to the Burgenland League.

Once back in the fourth-highest division, they became runner- up in the 2015/16 season with one point behind SV Eberau and thus missed the direct promotion. In the 2016/17 season they finally became champions of the Burgenland League with a lead of eleven points over Neuberg. After the maximum of the amateur teams of professional clubs in the Eastern League had already been exhausted, the Burgenlanders had to play against the worst amateur team, the SKN St. Pölten Juniors , in a relegation for promotion. In this one was defeated by the Lower Austrians. In the 2017/18 season they were able to defend their title with a ten-point lead over ASV Siegendorf and this time move up to the Regionalliga Ost again after three years without relegation.

In the first season after their return, the team was tenth. In the 2019/20 season, they finished eighth after 18 match days before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic . In August 2020 Mattersburg withdrew from gaming after becoming insolvent, which also led to the amateurs disappearing from the scene.
